Corporate Overview

Janice Cairns, Founder and President.

Janice had been creating custom window treatments for interior designers and retail customers for more than eighteen years when a graduate school professor inspired her to develop a solution with more widespread appeal. She invented and patented an innovative window treatment system and founded Breeze Home Fashions, Inc., with the Velegance brand as the product.

In September 2005 Janice's innovation was recognized by OPEN from American Express when she took home one of their Make Mine a $Million Business Awards at the Women's Leadership Exchange conference in Atlanta. Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence chose Janice to be the recipient of the award based on her potential to turn BREEZE into a million-dollar business.

Janice is a graduate of Kennesaw State University's MBA program where she also earned her BS in business. Janice also has been recognized by Window Fashions Design and Education magazine as a Window Fashions Certified Professional, and is a member of the Window Coverings Association of America. She is also certified with the Women's Business Enterprise National Council as a woman-owned business.

Tami Thorpe, Director of Operations.

Tami has been with BREEZE since the beginning, working shoulder to shoulder with Janice building the company. She oversees the workroom operation and is instrumental in designing new styles of window treatments to go on the BREEZE curtain rod. Tami also works in marketing to the Retirement facility and Independent Living facility markets. She attended Weber State University, and has worked in advertising for a large gun manufacturer. She taught in the arts for 20 years, and has sewn for 45 years. She has also served on boards and has chaired different community organizations in the Atlanta area.

Patti Cramer, Director of Sales.

Patti heads up the sales division, markets to the Retirement and Independent facility markets, and assists Janice with the Velegance reseller program. Patti is from a long line of artisans and tailors. She has worked for 20 years in floral decoration, and has also worked in designing showrooms and award-winning trade show displays in Atlanta, Chicago and New Orleans. She has used her talents to create murals and artwork for community outreach facilities. In addition, Patti has garnered the award for Reseller of the Year 2008 in the Velegance reseller organization.

Knikkolette Church, Director of Marketing.

Knikkolette has been working with BREEZE since mid-2006, working on the overall presentation of the BREEZE product and focusing on marketing to the Hospitality industry. She has a degree in Art from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She has worked in the past as design consultants for different Interior Design firms and now heads her own design firm. She is on the board of directors of the International Furniture and Design Association-Georgia chapter and is a member of Window Coverings Association of America. She also serves on committees for several different local business associations and Chambers of Commerce.
